The beauty of this experience of life will elude us if our main purpose seems to be directed towards needing to feel better or directed away from feeling bad.

At first glance, it looks like the right thing to do. This is built on a deep-seated belief that HAPPINESS/CONTENTMENT/PEACE is to be found by increasing pleasure and reducing pain/suffering.

THIS IS A TRAP, a life lived with the chasing of an okay-ness that is outside of us - such as searching for it in the circumstances or people where you will never find it.

The Following are common places you might look but never find fulfilment:
My Next or current partner
More money
Better job
More qualifications
More respect
More success

NB - I am not saying don’t have these things in your life because they are some of the amazing ingredients that make up its rich tapestry. What I am saying is, our okay-ness/peace-from-mind is not to be found in those things.

When we begin to realise that our feelings are telling us about our current thinking and not our circumstances, we can let it pass through without trying to fix it. We can begin to recognise it is just a thought-based experience and there is no value in overthinking it.
